Valley Road Reno in Mt Eden, Auckland, is a refined conversion and extension of a heritage villa, carefully balancing the original architectural character with contemporary interventions. The design reconfigures the plan to enhance spatial flow, connecting the extended living and kitchen areas seamlessly with the existing structure.

A high scullion ceiling over the new living space amplifies volume and allows light to cascade deeper into the interior. The simple white palette provides a serene backdrop, highlighting architectural form, while timber accents and subtle textures add warmth and tactile richness. Large openings and glazed connections create visual and physical links to the garden, resulting in a villa where heritage proportions, flowing spaces, and restrained materiality combine into an elegant, contemporary home.
